These Places

Paris, the 13th of November.

On this day, in a series of terrorist attacks 137 people died.

Terrorists striked in a number of places at once – Stade de France, Rue de la Fontaine, Rue Alibert i Rue Biacht, Rue de Charonne, Boulevard Volaire and Bataclan. A few days later, on the 18th of November in the suburbs of Paris, in Saint Denis, there was a raid in the apartment of the hiding terrorists.  During the operation the French officers shot 5000 rounds. A few of the terrorists managed to escape – one of them hid in a nearby trash can and only after a while was noticed by one of the officers. Police officers kicked down the door of the St Denys de l’Estrée church, where the terrorists were allegedly hiding.

A week after the tragedy, I found myself in Paris, and photographed places related to the attacks. Each one is full of stories. In view of the unimaginable tragedy, which I wasn’t capable of understanding, I could just stop and stare.
